What grades are admissions open for in Session 2026–27?
Admissions are open for all grades from Pre-Nursery (Cambridge Early Years EY1) through Grade XII. This includes Cambridge EY1, EY2, Nursery, LKG, UKG, and Classes I through XII. We offer three academic streams at the Senior Secondary level: Sciences, Commerce, and Humanities. Please contact our Admissions Office to confirm availability for specific grades as seats are limited.
Does registration guarantee admission to The Oriental School?
No — registration does not guarantee admission. Registration simply secures your place in the assessment process. Admission is confirmed only after the successful completion of all four steps: Registration, Interaction/Assessment, Document Submission, and Fee Payment within the stipulated timeline.
What is the admission process for Nursery / EY1 students?
For Nursery through Grade 2, the process involves a warm oral interaction with the School Principal or Head of Admissions. This is a pleasant, informal conversation designed to understand the child's educational development, use of language, social skills, and interests. There is no written test for this age group. The child may be asked to perform simple, age-appropriate activities.
What is the assessment for Grades 3 to 8?
Students applying for Grades 3 to 8 will take a written assessment in English and Mathematics. The syllabus is based on the previous class attended by the child — not the class being applied for. The test is conducted purely for entry-level assessment and grade placement, not as an elimination exercise.
What documents do I need to submit for admission?
You will need to submit the following 14 documents: (i) Birth Certificate, (ii) 3 passport-size photographs of student, (iii) Original Transfer Certificate (Grade I onwards), (iv) Previous class report card, (v) Residence proof, (vi) Aadhar card of applicant, (vii) Bank account details of a parent, (viii) Transport Application Form, (ix) Medical Form, (x) Vaccination Card, (xi) Local Guardian Authorization Form, (xii) 3 passport photos of Father, Mother & Guardian, (xiii) Photo identity of parents, and (xv) Samagra ID. All documents should be submitted within the stipulated time period.
Are there admission preferences for siblings of existing students?
Yes — admission preference is extended to the siblings of currently enrolled students. However, the minimum admission criteria still applies and must be met by all applicants, including siblings.
What is the fee structure for 2026–27?
The fee structure for Academic Session 2026–27 is available for download from this page. You can view it in the "Procedure" tab under "Key Reference Documents" or call our Admissions Concierge on +91-7477064 111 for the most current fee details. Fees are subject to revision and can vary by grade.
Can children with special needs apply to The Oriental School?
Yes — as per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, admissions to children with special needs cannot be refused. Such applications are routed through the Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Foundation. The decision is made based on the facilities and services the school can offer. Please contact our Admissions Office for a personal consultation.
What is the Cambridge Early Years programme offered at The Oriental School?
The Oriental School is Bhopal's only accredited Cambridge Early Years Centre. This means our EY1 and EY2 classes (children aged approximately 3–6) follow the internationally recognised Cambridge Early Years curriculum across six developmental strands: Communication & Language, Physical Development, Personal & Social Development, Literacy, Mathematics, and Understanding the World. It is a globally benchmarked programme that provides a seamless pathway into Cambridge Primary and beyond.
How can I track my child's school bus?
The Oriental School has partnered with Intel Rides for real-time GPS tracking of all school buses. Parents receive notifications via the Intel Rides app with live bus location, estimated arrival times, and geofencing alerts when the bus enters or exits designated zones. Details are provided upon admission confirmation.
